Sælzer Bub One of my favorite releases this year. This post black metal outfit is simply amazing. Ed Gibbs’ vocals are outstanding. The best i’ve heard in a while. The song „New Despair“ is a monster. First half is slow and melancholic with beautiful clean singing. The second half is pure aggression. Emotional screaming with blast beats. Favorite track: New Despair.

Gary Davidson Even in the more direct attack of ‘Old Belief’ the battle of ecstatic transcendental post-hardcore with the darker tinges from the black metal is balanced perfectly. It gives for a perfect mix of anger, pain, relief and despair.

I was tipped off to this project by the ever cool beans @reposerecords because I was looking for suggestions in the somewhat esoteric request of music which *wasn't* "blackened hardcore" – which tends to lean on the dumber chuddier end of the latter genre, but *was* "black metal by people who are or were hardcore kids", as that seems to me an ideal combination of righteous anger *and* very unlikely to be stupid little crybaby nationalists. I think we're on to a winner. Luke
